What exactly do you do?
We help you transact!

We provide a robust customer-centric identity verification platform to facilitate secure, frictionless transacting. We expose powerful RESTful Identity and Consent Verification APIs so you can control your verification flow, and offer several preset flows based on varying industries and verification needs- from one-time biometric/government ID verification to PIN based

We also offer low and no-code solutions for businesses who want to digitize or have limited capacity for custom integrations.

FOR INDIVIDUALS

Do you save biometric data?

We do if you choose to submit a selfie as part of the verification process, but that is only required for the highest Verification Levels, or if you enable biometric recovery.

We generally rely on your device’s secure biometric systems to verify you. That way, your data never leaves your device, and you can use strong 2FA/MFA without transmitting any biometric data.

How do you store my biometric data?

We store biometric data in the form of an encrypted, anonymized representation which cannot be reverse engineered. You can read more about how we treat your data here.

Are there non-biometric verification options?

Yes! We support other, device and user driven authentication vectors, such as PINs and OTP.

Can I back-up and recover my account?

Yes, we support multiple recovery methods, including biometric and email. We strongly recommend biometric recovery because if your device is stolen, whoever has your device likely has access to your email.

If our automated recovery process fails, we can restore your account as long as you verified a selfie and a government ID, just email us at support@transaq.io with your recovery ID. You will be required to provide another selfie and picture of that government ID.

How do I recover my account?

Our recovery process take place through our mobile app. You will need to submit your email, and follow the instructions. If you enabled biometric recovery, you will need to take a selfie.

What should I do if my device is lost/stolen?

If you access services that use Level 1 Verification, submit a report here. Verifications from that device will require Level 2 or higher Verifications for all transactions until either:

    • Level 2 or higher Verification is given; or
    • That device is deregistered (that device may then be re-registered if found).

To deregister that device, you will need to recover your account.

OUR PRODUCTS

What is OCR and how do you use it?

Optical Character Recognition is an industry standard AI driven process where text is identified and extracted from pictures. We use OCR technology, along with proprietary algorithms to extract data from submitted documents and verify the document’s authenticity.

Can I still use Transaq if my (users’) device(s) don’t have fingerprint/face scanner?

Yes! We support other, device and user driven authentication vectors, such as PINs and OTP. Please note that limited verification options are available without access to a mobile phone.

What are the default verification levels?

Verification Levels range from 1 to 3, with higher levels indicating that a user has undergone authentication processes using more sensitive personal data. Higher verification levels require stronger authentication, and establish a significantly higher levels of trust when required.

    • Verification Level 1 (Device Based Authentication)
    • Verification Level 2 (Knowledge/Access Based Authentication)
    • Verification Level 3 (Identity Based Authentication)
How am I allowed to use Transaq?

We afford our business clients tremendous flexibility within the bounds of our platform, but you must conform to our Terms of Service, which can be found here.

Which industries do you service?

How long does it take to deploy a custom model/API?

This can vary depending on your unique case, but simpler deployments with clear requirements can be online within a week.

Do you save biometric data?

If a selfie (impromptu, unedited) is submitted as part of the verification process, we store biometric data in the form of an encrypted, anonymized, irreversible representation which cannot be reverse engineered. You can read more about how we treat your data here.

How long does verification take?

Automated verification can take anywhere from 2 – 30 seconds, depending on the number of documents submitted and the quality of the pictures taken.

If there’s a problem with a given submission, human verification can take up to 1 business day.

What information is needed to verify my (user’s) identity?

This depends on the level of verification required by the business client whose services you’re using. For the highest levels of verification, you need an email, a selfie, and a government issued ID.

Does Transaq share/sell user data?

We do not sell your data. We only share data with necessary sub-processors. You can read more about how we treat your data here.

How secure is the verification process?

All data (including and especially personal data) is encrypted in transit and at rest. We use industry standard practices to protect all end user and business client data.

What personal data do business clients receive?

If a user is verified as part of a business client’s process/service, that business client receives no additional personal data as part of that transaction.

Otherwise, where a transaction is carried out with a pre-verified user, a business client receives the personal data they request from that user and only if that user consents.

PRICING

Do I pay for failed verifications?

You are not charged for failed verifications.

Do you have alternate pricing plans?

Alternate pricing plans can be provided upon request in light of special circumstances or requirements.

Are there any setup charges?

There are no setup charges for our identity platform, however if you need a custom document processing (OCR) model, we may charge a technical fee based on the complexity of the required processing/verification.

What payment types do you accept?

We accept all major debit/credit cards, ACH and wire transfer.

Do you offer sandbox access? How does it work?

We do offer access to a dev environment, to access it you have to register as a business client. Once you’re approved, you can generate sandbox keys from the API Key section in the Admin Console.

Is there rollover if I don’t consume all requests?

Yes! If your plan includes a monthly minimum, your usage credits will be carried forward until the next year.

API and INTEGRATION

What integration options do I have?

We currently offer access to a set of RESTful JSON APIs you can use to construct custom transaction flows. Further options are coming soon.

For low/no-code integrations, document and request submission can be managed from the Transaq mobile app and Admin Console.
